Back to the Hustle
With “Mamma Mia” coming to an end I’m reminded of the feeling of unemployment. Where’s the next pay cheque coming from? Is my agent going to call me with that lottery winning phone call? These type of thoughts used to creep into my mind at the end of contracts but now I’m ready to rumble.
Being on a big commercial show is amazing, don’t get me wrong. But the prospect of what is next is really exciting. For 12months I’ve had a lot of time to keep up my training, try new things and fail with the security that I had a job behind me. But now I’m headed out to the unknown and I’m bloody excited.
It’s a funny time of year to be finishing as most things are wrapping up for the year. My agent needs a holiday too right and most certainly I need one too. But that doesn’t mean the work has to stop.
This time of year is a perfect time to reconnect with casting agents, producers, Your agent, other colleagues and remind them you are still around. Send them a Christmas note or even drop off a little gift to say merry Christmas. You’d be surprised what a little generosity can do not just for your career but for spreading love into the universe.
I’m ready for the next chapter and I hope we cross paths soon. What’s next? Bring it on.
